Archerfield
Postcode: 4108 | Distance to CBD: 11 km
Welcome to Archerfield
Plane enthusiasts will love Archerfield, but they'll have to search hard for a home as there is very little housing in this suburb. Instead there's Archerfield Airport and an industrial precinct that supports it. Archerfield Airport was once Brisbane's main airport and home to Qantas, Ansett, TAA and ANA in the 1930s. In World War Two it was a military base for the RAAF and US and Dutch airforces. Nowdays it's used mainly for light aircraft.
There are plenty of renovators' dream homes in the area (in other words in need of a little TLC) and Archerfield is close enough to the CBD to be an easy commute.
There's also the Brisbane International Speedway with regular events such as Speedcars, Sprintcars and fireworks.
